Chile Relleno & Cheese Enchilada Plate 100110 (© Deadzie.)I have been going to El Compadre for many many years. One of my friends introduced me to this restaurant that happens to be right across the street from Guitar Center. Everything there is so tasty and I always enjoy the ambiance. Anytime I’m in the area, I have to stop for a margarita and some Mexican food here.

Cheese Pupusas 093010 (© Deadzie.)We decided to stop by for some pupusas since we always pass by this place to and from work. Plus it had been some time since I had eaten pupusas. They are a typical Salvadorean dish made with corn masa and filled with cheese, beans, or various meats. They are then topped with a curtido, which is pickled cabbage and carrots with herbs. It is so delicious! This place had good pupusas and a decent variety, but I have had better. I think what turned me off was the curtido. There was something about it that I wasn’t too particular to, like it was missing something. It was still a good pupusa though, just not the best.

Grilled Artichoke, Spinach & Cheese Dip and Veggie Chicken Strips 092310 (by Deadzie.)Everything here is always good. The grilled artichoke is always the best to have. And I love that they have the Gardein meat options for vegetarians. Always a fun and tasty experience.

This was my first time eating at Mendocino Farms. I had heard many good things about it so I had been wanting to try it. Luckily Raquel recommended we go here for lunch. It was so good. Especially what I had on such a hot day (it truly was!). Everything was very fresh and tasted great. It is a little more on the pricey side, but it is well worth it for the quality. I was also drinking a flavored lemonade, but I can’t remember which flavor. It was really good. I did return a few months later and picked up some sandwiches to bring home. I had the Veggie BLTA which was really good, even after being heated up! I am definitely returning soon, plus they have a decent variety of veggie and vegan options.

This was my first time having their desserts, but I knew this would be good either way. It was warm and chewy and delicious!

Again, all their food was great. My friend picked out the cheeses for the artisan board so I don’t know the names of them, but they were really good! Everything on that board complimented itself. And the flat bread and hummus were just as delicious.

This was my first time at The Whisper and everything was so good. Especially the truffled popcorn, as well as the olives. And our waitress was extremely sweet and nice. I would definitely return here next time I’m at The Grove. The Whisper Lounge189 The Grove DrLos Angeles, CA 90036(323) 931-0202

Must I say anything about this sweet crepe that we shared after our breakfast. It was too delicious and tasty! I am glad we shared this between three people, because it is too much sweetness for one person. I would definitely have this again!

These were different than what I’m used to, but they were still good. They came with cheese, grilled peppers, and sour cream. The grilled peppers gave the nachos a good taste.

Their veggie burger was ok, not the best I’ve had. This was my first time eating at Ruby’s so I was curious. I would have preferred a different kind of veggie patty, maybe Boca or Garden-Burger. Their fries though were very tasty and seasoned well. I’m looking forward to trying their other veggie items like their tacos.
